WHAT HAPPEND – HOW CAN WE HELP?

I have problems with the Ethernet connection, what is the reason?

The Ethernet connection is a wired connection. Please check the follwoing steps:

1. The Ethernet cable is free of damage and the plug is plugged into both the system and a switch.

2. The system has been set up according to a static IP or DHCP.

3. The IP Address was not changed

I have no internet connection, is this important?

No, the system is offline.

The entire calculation and storage of the data takes place offline on the system, so that we minimise the risk of a cyber attack for you. For remote support, we need a controlled and secure connection.

Is the system offline?

The system is offline unless you want an Internet connection.

How does the Rip Prevent+ system communicate with the PLC?

The status of the system can be output via 3 relays, whereby you as the customer assign the faults to the relays and therefore the importance individually. It is also possible to make the data available via Modbus TCP so that you can save the data in your own database or create your own graphs.

No data is displayed in the electrical network analysis, what is the reason for this?

Please check the following points before contacting our support team:

1. the rotating field matches the installed current transformers on the phases.

2. the cables are correctly installed in the system in the appropriate order.

3. the plug has been assembled in accordance with the Installation Guide.

If these points apply, please contact our support team.

No data is displayed.

Proof:

1. check the current transformer plugs for correct pin assignment according to the installation guide and the electrical circuit diagram.

2. that the reference voltage is correct and the pin assignment is also correct.

If there are no installation problems, please contact our support.

What does the THD value mean?

THD, or Total Harmonic Distortion, refers to an important measurement in electronics that indicates the extent to which the harmonics of a signal distort the original signal. Harmonics are frequencies that are a multiple of the fundamental frequency of a signal and can arise due to various non-linearities of the system.

THD is typically expressed as a percentage, which is the ratio of the sum of the power of all harmonic frequencies to the power of the fundamental frequency. A low THD value means that the signal is transmitted or amplified with less distortion, which is generally considered an indicator of a higher quality system or component.

In electrical engineering, the THD is also an important indicator of the quality of the power supply and voltage supply, as high harmonic distortion can lead to problems with electrical devices and is often associated with inefficient power transmission. Corresponding threshold values for THD are defined in accordance with IEC 61000.

What do I do if I have installed a new belt?

If the belt type is the same and it is only a new belt with the same specification, do nothing. The system will adjust itself continuously to the new belt.

Does the replacement of idlers affect the calculations?

No, because the system constantly recalibrates itself and therefore takes into account all changes and temperature fluctuations throughout the day.

My conveyor system has several motors, is this a problem?

No. The Rip Prevent+ system has been successfully installed on conveyor systems with a total output of 1.4 MW. All functions are available except for motor monitoring. Accordingly, motor monitoring is only provided for the installed motors. The Rip Prevent+ system has also successfully predicted or detected a slitting event on a system with two motors.

Our system is even installed on conveyor systems with a power supply of 6 kV. However, there are some special features to consider here and technical support must be contacted.

There are several detected errors in the event list, what do they mean?

An event list is sent with the system. The corresponding errors are listed in this event list. To make it easier for you to find the cause, we have listed possible sources of faults and possible damage to the conveyor system so that you can further optimise your conveyor system.

Can I receive additional training?

You are welcome to contact us at any time for training on our dashboard. If the responsibilities in your company change, or if you simply have questions about the dashboard and system that we were unable to clarify during the training and commissioning, you can contact us at any time.

The update did not work, what could be the reason?

If an update does not work, first check whether the connection to the system was permanent and internal firewalls are not preventing an update. If this is OK, check that you have used Chrome or Firefox as your web browser. If it did not work with the web browsers either, establish a direct connection to the system on site at the installation location and carry out the update.

If an error still occurs here, please contact support.
